What does that mean?

There is a reason the wealthy don’t only invest in stocks and bonds. They buy real estate, farmland, vineyards and other physical assets; invest in startups, small businesses, venture capital, private equity, private credit and hedge funds; collect rare art, wine & spirits, watches, cars and jewelry; and even invest in their passions by funding athletes, sports teams and music artists.

The 1% see value in places first-time retail investor may not. They also have the resources to go after it. They understand how our world, built on the exchange of value, works. They don’t follow the crowd. They know not to be subject to the whims of the public markets over which they have little control. They know to spread their bets. They know to look for outsized returns in obscure places. They know to diversify.

It’s true, its easier to invest when you have copious amounts of capital. That capital buys you the best in the business (lawyers, bankers, wealth advisors, accountants, etc.) and gets you deals your average Joe wouldn’t be able to afford. Money can’t buy you happiness, but it sure can buy you access to private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, and other funds managing billions, if not trillions, of dollars; as well as rare goods, unique deals, and everything in between.
